Yes how time flies! Ethan is already 1 year old and I swear it felt like he just got out of the hospital weeks ago! Anyway, mummy chose to have his 1st birthday in Kuala Lumpur where all her close cousins, uncles and aunties could all congregate at a suburban shopping centre in a children’s playground at Petaling Jaya (The Curve) called Yukids Island. The weekend wasn’t quite on his actual birthday (being on the 18th, and his actual birthday was actually 21st), but that’s when everyone was available. So it was an ‘early’ celebration!
Good thing for Ethan was that he did get to meet a lot of his cousins and uncles/aunties again. The location was perfect, given that the kids could just play in the playground while the adults could go ‘shopping’ in the shopping centre. It wasn’t the fanciest birthday, but it had nice “3D cakes”.. buffet dinner.. fun for the kids, catchup for the adults, all the usual ‘birthday’ stuff..
Oh.. side note.. Ethan hates putting anything on his head. So we couldn’t make him wear that birthday hat at all.
It was also where we discovered just how much Ethan was and still is obsessed with ‘wheels’. Put him in a little ride like this.. and he’ll stand there turning that steering wheel for ages!
And perhaps another first for baby during this little trip was his first taste of durians! Whilst he had made some attempts to taste it earlier, he outright rejected it. This is the first time we’ve seen him happily keep it in his mouth and swallow it! He’s now truly a ‘Malaysian’… 🙂

This little boy is definitely growing up too fast. I don’t know how he rated mummy and daddy, but I hope he enjoyed his little adventure so far!
